Consensus Reality: Gabrielle Duggan and Neill Prewitt
Screenings every Thursday and Friday from 6-7pm.
Consensus Reality is a musical by Gabrielle Duggan and Neill Prewitt in which multiple personal mythologies and aesthetics coexist, channeled through the surfaces and depths of rock n roll. Created through both collaboration and isolation, it juxtaposes two individuals' searches for consensual experiences of Self and Other. It is an attempt to expose the invisible forces of reality, explore identity through performance, and seek a new community.
Gabrielle Duggan (b. Buffalo, NY) teaches Textile Art and Design as Visiting Lecturer at Georgia State University, and will be a Knight Foundation Emerging Artist in Residence this December at Ponyride (Detroit, MI).
Her work is represented by AMAH Industries (NYC), and has been exhibited at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art in Winston-Salem and the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC.
Neill Prewitt (b. Clearwater, FL) is an artist based in Raleigh, NC. His work, which spans multiple media, is guided by an interest in music as culture and culture as music. It has been exhibited at LUMP (Raleigh, NC) and the Nasher Museum of Art (Durham, NC).
